Help me get to Sydney!

So I have run out of funding ideas to figure out how to get money to help set up my new fashion label - AARLI .

I need to find some start-up funds to help with set up costs towards a sewing machine, laptop (using my partners), fashion materials, jewelery materials, design materials, Travel costings and Administration costs.

I need your help to begin this design journey confident and be able to walk through the open the door and create opportunity for a possible future career.

Sourcing Funds...

What a drama it has been in this town to try find sponsorship, grants or funding! I've been everywhere from Department of Culture & Arts to Lotterywest and now I'm going to try something new called Pozible!

What is Pozible?

Pozible is a online crowdfunding platform and a community-building tool for creative projects. It was developed to help people raise funds. Whether you’re a photographer, artist or avant-garde circus act you can host your project on Pozible! 

So I have gone and created a project called "Get me to Sydney!" which I hope will be an avenue for me to find some resources.

Here is to putting myself out there and trying something new!

Sydney Photo Shoot

I got woken up this morning by the one and only Mia Brennan an amazing Indigenous Fashion Designer and Stylist!

Firstly, she begins the conversation with "I heart your work, it's edgy and unique, its an un-tapped market at the moment!" Then I started giggling like a gin!

Then continues speaking about how last weekend she attended Melbourne Indigenous Fashion week and was thinking about me the whole time! How there is no-one in the current industry that is doing what i am doing! From the upcycled concept but to my street style influences.

Then proceeded to ask me for all of the garments and jewelery I have available! She is very interested in using my collection for their latest photo shoot that will be used for the promotion of Australian Indigenous Fashion Week.

Australian Indigenous Fashion Week Design Program

The Australian fashion scene has some exciting things coming its way!

The inaurgural Australian Indigenous Fashion Week (AIFW) is set to take place in Sydney around April 2014.

This Fashion Week will exhibits original designs and products from over 30 designers from across the nation. The event will showcase a broad spectrum of Indigenous culture filled with cultural performances, tourism experiences and visual art.
