Where has this year gone? I swear we just began this journey!

Only just finished the design program and now the collection concept presentation. The 2014 Australian Indigenous Fashion Week panel presentation was held at the Whitehouse Institute of Design in Sydney NSW.

I was on time and all prepared with my suitcase of individual packages, fabric swatches, design samples, collection portfolio, visual diaries and examples of accessories.

I walked in the room and introduced myself to all panel members. Set up props (manikin with accessories), set up examples ( fabric design) and set up packages for each panel member.

Panel members included Krystal Perkins (All The Perks CEO), Kate Joseph (Camilla), Sophie Nixon (Sass n Bide / Willow).

One of the panel member -  Kate Joseph ( remembered me and thanked me for the necklace I had made and sent her in July).

I had 20 mins to go through my whole package with the panel and discuss my collection concept.

I began with thanking the traditional owners, introduced myself, my people, my family.
Then went straight into it, ticking off my list in front of me and answering any questions the panel members threw at me.

Next minute I have gone 20 minutes over time! The panel members were discussing and getting involved in my presentation.

Gone in a flash!

I now wait for feedback and if I am successful on the 11 November 2013.

If I am successful, my AIFW entry fees are due on 25 November 2013 and then my pre-production samples are due to ATP in Sydney on 8 March 2013.

Fingers, toes are crossed that I gets in! I am excited but very nervous at the fact if I do get in and how much I have to do, lack of funds and lack of time! But she loves a challenge!

Keep dreaming!
